Treye Green is a journalist, editor, culture writer, content strategist, poet, and professional development expert whose work blends his love of music, design, literature, and style.
Treye first began shaping his creative voice as a child who loved to play with LEGOs. He was intrigued with the endless worlds he could build and shape either based on the instructions for a set or the ideas crafted through his own imagination.
Those LEGO designs were the first projects he was able to creative direct, with Treye eventually using his love of singing and music as another artistic outlet.
Treye later uncovered a love for fashion and journalism while flipping through the pages of magazines like Essence, Elle, Jet, Giant, and Details. His early connection to both the visual and written storytelling he encountered in those magazines laid the foundation for his career in media.
With over 15 years of media experience, Treye has previously held managing editor, editorial director, editor, and reporter roles at outlets such as NPR, The New York Times, BuzzFeed, OK! Magazine, HuffPost, BET.com, Blavity, the New York Post, and Group Nine Media. And his entertainment and culture writing and production work has appeared on outlets like Allure, The Guardian, Business of Fashion, NBC News, CNN, Business Insider, Mic, Shondaland, the Recording Academy, Zora, Level, Momentum, and Good Morning America on ABC News.
With his passion for helping people navigate their journeys as creators, he founded Adeiloue, a creative agency that provides professional development and creative services to creative professionals across industries.
Treye is also a seasoned panelist, moderator, and culture commentator, with him having appeared at events and series like Broccoli Con, the National Association of Black Journalists national convention, the Institute for Independent Journalists Freelance Journalism Conference, and BuzzFeed’s Hella Opinions. He also speaks on professional development and career prep topics through workshops, conferences, and panels at universities across the nation.
When he’s not penning a new story on working up some fresh content strategy, Treye can typically be found writing poetry or working on a piece of collage art. He is also an avid R&B music lover — with Janet Damita Jo Jackson, Fantasia, Brandy, Jill Scott, and Jazmine Sullivan being his top five R&B faves.
